Easy Chocolate Cake


Dry ingredients

2 cups of sugar

2 cups of plain flour

2 tsp of baking powder

1 & 1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 cup of cocoa powder

Wet ingredients

1 cup of coffee

2 eggs

1 cup of milk

1/2 cup of oil

2 tsp vanilla essence


  1. Preheat oven to 180°C

  2. In a large bowl, sift together all the dry ingredients . 

  3. Add the milk to the coffee and stir .

  4. Next, Add all the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, whisk until well combined.

  5. Pour batter in a greased baking tin, 30x33cm. Bake for 35 minutes. Remove from the oven and cool completely.

  6. Decorate with chocolate buttercream icing or chocolate ganache, (melted chocolate and a few tablespoons of cream stirred together)
