I grew up in the 70’s in South Africa, long before coffee shops and fancy restaurants were readily available. I had the privilege to be introduced to home baking by my talented Mom from a very young age. I recall her baking us the biggest cakes to take to school to share with our classmates on our birthdays and all the lovely cakes and biscuits for the summer holidays.
